Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

This job will require a person to learn to maintain and operate the ice making and packaging equipment at Carolina Ice Company, but the main responsibilities will evolve around the ammonia refrigeration systems in the ice plant. The ice business is seasonal, but the position is full time with a daytime working schedule. Weekend work will be required during the peak season (May15-September15). Control system electrical skills are preferred due to the nature of the equipment in this plant.

Skills and Requirements

• common knowledge of industrial ammonia refrigeration applications.

• ability to troubleshoot electrical motors, motor starters and control wiring in a large industrial manufacturing plant.

• ability to work in a 15 degree room

• overall plant operations and run the ice making and packaging equipment.

• ability to operate a forklift.

• willingness to work on weekends during the summer months.

• willingness to be a team leader.

• certifications are not required

• 3 years industrial ammonia and electrical experience in an industrial environment preferred.

Qualifications

• Must pass drug screening.

• Must have dependable transportation.

• Must have valid NC drivers license

• Must have a good work ethic, attitude, and dependable attendance habits.

Pay Range – $19.00 - $23.00 hourly, based on experience.
